Program Details
BEng in CIVIL ENGINEERING Civil engineers play an important role in planning, constructing, maintaining, and managing safe infrastructure to make our urban environment more adaptive to the ever-changing climate. Our program covers a broad range of disciplines, including structural and materials engineering, geotechnical engineering, water resource engineering, environmental engineering, transportation engineering, and systems engineering and management, providing students with a holistic and balanced curriculum. We have gone beyond the traditional civil engineering to pioneer developments in smart cities and next-generation infrastructure. Our program aims to equip students with a solid foundation in civil engineering, foster intellectual aspiration, and familiarize them with the latest technologies such as AI; all necessary to build robust infrastructure systems and maintain a safe, clean, and sustainable environment.
Civil and environmental engineering is a profession that melds various disciplines to develop intelligent and sustainable infrastructure. Students learn how to plan, design, construct, and oversee civil engineering projects, improving living standards and protecting human and infrastructure against both natural and man-made hazards.
BEng in CIVIL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING Environmental quality is a major public concern all over the world. Rapid economic development in Hong Kong and Asia at large sees more and more resources being committed to improving and managing our environment. Thus, there will be a great need for properly trained environmental engineers to develop smart and sustainable solutions. Our program provides broad engineering training with an emphasis on drinking water and wastewater treatment, waste-to-energy/resources technologies, carbon emissions and decarbonization strategies, green and renewable energy, low-carbon circular economy, sustainable land remediation and hazardous waste management, and air/noise pollution control.
