UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS & 2025 JUPAS ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS JUPAS applicants applying to HKUST are expected to satisfy the University's general admissions requirements of four core subjects and two elective subjects with minimum attainment levels of "332A33", and specific requirements set out by individual Schools or programs on subjects and subject attainment levels (if any).

General Requirements 4C + 2X (4 core subjects plus 2 electives), or 4C + 1X + M1 / M2 (4 core subjects + 1 elective, plus Mathematics Extended Part Module 1 or Module 2) Elective subject in the admissions score formulae refers to Category A subjects, including Mathematics Extended Part Module 1 and Module 2.

Remarks ^ Interview is compulsory. # Students of these programs may opt for an Extended Major in Artificial Intelligence. @ Students of these programs may opt for an Extended Major in Digital Media and Creative Arts (participation by the Chemical and Biological Engineering Department is pending approval from the University). + For local students admitted to the five-year Dual Degree Program in Technology and Management, the tuition fee for the fifth year of study will be set at a different rate from the first four years of undergraduate studies, which is funded and set by the Government. As reference, the DDP 5th year tuition fee is $60,000 for 2024/25, subject to annual review and adjustment. ∆ Score 3 or above in Category C subjects will also be considered as 2 nd Elective. ▲ Category C subjects may be used once in the score calculation.

Students admitted to the School-based choices Engineering with an Extended Major in AI or Science (Group A) with an Extended Major in AI have to drop the Extended Major in AI if they enrol in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Computer Engineering Program or Data Science and Technology Program after admission. 7. Students admitted to School-based choice Business and Management will join the Major Selection Exercise (MSE) to declare major within the first 3 semesters of study. All students admitted to the School or its programs will follow the same Year- 1 curriculum and start their major study from the second year onwards. They may also declare more than one business major in subsequent semesters.

Jointly offered by the School of Business and Management and Division of Environment and Sustainability. Students of the School of Business and Management could apply to this program after their first year of study. 4. Jointly offered by the School of Science and School of Engineering. 5. Admission to Computer Science (COMP), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Computer Engineering (CPEG), and Microelectronics and Integrated Circuits (MEIC) from the School-based admission track is expected to be competitive due to limited quota. Students passionate about COMP or AI should apply to JS5240 Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Those particularly interested in Computer Engineering should apply to JS5212 Computer Engineering program, while students interested in MEIC should apply to JS5250 Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering.

SCHOOL-BASED APPLICATION CHOICES Students who wish to spend more time exploring their interests may apply and be admitted to a School without a major initially. They would apply to major department(s) or program(s) during the Major Selection Exercise (MSE).

PROGRAM-BASED / DEPARTMENTAL-BASED APPLICATION CHOICES Students who have developed clear interests in specific discipline(s) or program(s) may apply and be admitted directly to the Department(s) or Program(s) of their choice.
