Studying Mathematics and Economics helped me build a strong analytical foundation, while being surrounded by ambitious students, professors, alumni and opportunities in Hong Kong encouraged me to keep challenging myself. I interned at Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Finance and Economics, spent a summer at Walt Disney World in the United States, and am now interning with Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Digital Technologies. These experiences have strengthened my communication, adaptability and problem-solving skills, and made me feel much better prepared to build an international career.

My program placed me directly in active laboratory settings. Through the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program, I gained hands-on experience working with cells and drug treatments, particularly in cancer research, my primary field of interest. With support from the University’s Career Center, I secured four internships across different industries. These experiences broadened my perspective and gave me a much clearer vision of the career I want to build.

1 Students admitted to the School-based choices Engineering with Extended Major in AI or Science (Group A) with Extended Major in AI have to drop the Extended Major in AI if they enrol in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Computer Engineering Program or Data Science and Technology Program after admission. 2 Admissions to BEng / BSc in Computer Science (COMP/COSC), BEng in Artificial Intelligence (AI), BEng in Computer Engineering (CPEG), and BEng in Microelectronics and Integrated Circuits (MEIC) from the School-based admissions track is expected to be competitive due to limited quota. Students with strong interest to major in COMP/COSC or AI should apply to Computer Science and Engineering whereas students with strong interest in BEng in Computer Engineering should apply to Computer Engineering. Those who have a strong interest in MEIC should apply to Electronic and Computer Engineering. 3 Students admitted to School-based choice Business and Management will join the Major Selection Exercise (MSE) to declare major within the first 3 semesters of study. All students admitted to the School or its programs will follow the same Year-1 curriculum and start their major study from the second year onwards. They may also declare more than one business major in subsequent semesters.
