WE ARE FLEXIBLE AND INTERDISCIPLINARY At HKUST, we provide you with the lexibility to choose your programs. While you can directly apply to some of the programs at the application stage, you may apply to the School of Science, School of Engineering, or School of Business and Management irst and decide on your major at the end of the second semester in Year 1 or the irst semester in Year 2. Apart from the major programs from an individual School, you can also enroll in joint programs, interdisciplinary programs, extended majors and minor programs.

2023 HKUST JUPAS ADMISSIONS SCORES POINTS TO NOTE FOR 2023 JUPAS ADMISSIONS SCORES: 1. HKUST calculates weighted scores based on 2023 program-speciic formulae, of which certain subjects are given heavier weighting. Further admissions scores for reference based on the 2024 program-speciic formulae will be provided in due course.
2. All admissions scores are applicable to local students and are provided for reference only. The public examination results of students admitted to each program vary from year to year. HKUST considers an application’s whole proile, on top of the HKDSE score.

NON-CHINESE SPEAKING STUDENTS: Students meeting speciied circumstances set out by EDB may use alternative Chinese (i.e. Grade E / Grade 2 or above in a GCSE / IGCSE / GCE Chinese Language subject), HKDSE Other Language Subject (Grade E or above) or HKDSE Applied Learning Chinese subject (Attained or above) to satisfy the University's Chinese language requirement.
The speciied circumstances are: a) Students who have learned Chinese Language for less than 6 years while receiving primary and secondary education; or b) Students who have learned Chinese Language for 6 years or more in schools, but have been taught an adapted and simpler curriculum not normally applicable to the majority of students in local schools.
We award academic and non-academic scholarships to outstanding students on competitive merit basis. These awards range from one-of to full scholarship with living allowance, renewable. SCHOLARSHIPS & SPECIAL SCHEMES
