ALTERNATIVE CHOICES Applicants who are not admitted to their applied program(s) will be considered for the respective alternative choice(s), if they have indicated such preferences on their application forms and meet the subject requirements of the respective alternative choice(s).
Students who wish to spend more time exploring their interests may apply and be admitted to a School without declaring a major. They would apply to major program(s) during the Major Selection Exercise at the end of the second semester in Year 1 or the irst semester in Year 2.

WE ARE FLEXIBLE AND INTERDISCIPLINARY At HKUST, we provide you with the lexibility to choose your programs. While you can directly apply to some of the programs at the application stage, you may apply to the School of Science, School of Engineering, or School of Business and Management irst and decide on your major at the end of the second semester in Year 1 or the irst semester in Year 2. DIGITAL MEDIA AND CREATIVE ARTS (DMCA)
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) A cross-disciplinary and practical program that o�fers solid knowledge in your major, along with innovative applications of AI in your major areas.
Integrating creative arts and digital media in the world of rapidly changing technologies, students can study the two areas in an interdisciplinary program framework.
American Patterned System (SAT/ACT/AP)
